My Dorm
Dorms are a regular part of almost every college. And when you go to college you have the option of whether or not you want to live in the dorms or commute to the campus. But most people end up living on campus unless you live relatively close. And that was the case for me. I live in Indiana so commuting is not really an option for me so I will most likely live all four years on campus. And I am ok with that happening because for me my dorm experience has been good enough so far for me to continue to do it but of course, there are things about my dorm experience so far that I have not enjoyed that much.
The main negative thing about my dorm is my roommate. When you hear that someone's roommate is bad we always assume the worst like them smelling or having bad hygiene, leaving the dorm a mess, or even them being a bad person and rude. But my roommate is actually none of those things. The main problem that I have is that he is never actually in the dorm. When I say that he is actually never in the dorm because he is never on campus like not too long ago I did not see my roommate for eight days in a row and he showed up on a Friday and left the very next day. But some people will argue that my roommate not being there often is a good thing with plenty of privacy and that is good and true but just not what I wanted my first time coming to college because most of the time I end up alone or my roommate not doing anything so it ends being another boring night.
Overall I do enjoy my dorm. But there are definitely things I currently do not like about it but that's ok because, in the end, it made me meet new people and know I typically see people in their dorm rooms. So now I do not end up spending a lot of time in my room. But that is not necessarily a bad thing. All the dorms that North Central offers are actually pretty good and would be ok with staying in them, what other choice do I have so gotta make the best out of it.
I agree. The dorms aren't too bad, but having a good roommate is definitely important.
ReplyDeleteWhen I went to visit NCC last year, I saw that the dorms weren't in the best condition. However, I did hear that the dorms did get renovations so I might consider living in the dorms next year.
