Me so far

Hello, my name is Connor Davis and I am currently a freshman at North Central College. Which I am actually enjoying a lot more than I expected. I did have my initial doubts about fitting in or making friends right away because unlike most of the people that I have met, I am not from Illinois. I’m from Indiana. It's where I have been my whole life. And when I left for college I was also leaving my family, my friends, and the environment that I was accustomed to. To say the least, I was definitely nervous, but there is one thing that has been helping me so far. Volleyball. 

The main reason that I came to North Central was to play sports, more specifically volleyball. Volleyball I could say is definitely one of my passions and is something I like to believe I'm good at. And thanks to this it has been the main way for me to connect with people and make friends. Volleyball for me has always been my scapegoat and is often something I can do to get de-stressed. I only wish I started playing sooner. But the past is in the past and you definitely learn from it, I definitely have. Now I look to the future with high hopes.

I can’t wait to see what my North Central experience holds in store for me. Whether it is making new friends or my career as a collegiate volleyball player. Which I couldn’t be more excited about. And I could definitely see myself staying here for all my years of college.

Kman

 I think that Kman is my favorite dining option on campus. There are a lot of good things that I can say about Kman. But the main things I like about Kman first is the fact that once I swipe in I am able to get as much food as I want while I am there. And especially when the food is typically pretty good it makes it easy to go up and get seconds. And the second thing I like about Kman the most is the variety, there is always something that I will eat there whether it is the main option, sandwich, salad, pasta, or pizza there is always something for me to eat. But as it is with everything there are, of course, some downsides to Kman but in my opinion the pros out way the cons. The biggest problem that I have with Kman is its closing time 8:30. This is way too early. Most of the students that go to north central are also athletes and for a lot of teams, some of their practices including mine Kman is always closed when I get back. My Dorm

     Dorms are a regular part of almost every college. And when you go to college you have the option of whether or not you want to live in the dorms or commute to the campus. But most people end up living on campus unless you live relatively close. And that was the case for me. I live in Indiana so commuting is not really an option for me so I will most likely live all four years on campus. And I am ok with that happening because for me my dorm experience has been good enough so far for me to continue to do it but of course, there are things about my dorm experience so far that I have not enjoyed that much.     The main negative thing about my dorm is my roommate. When you hear that someone's roommate is bad we always assume the worst like them smelling or having bad hygiene, leaving the dorm a mess, or even them being a bad person and rude. Being a Recrute

 One of the harder things that I had to do when I was in high school was being a college recruit for sports. I did not like the idea that I had to basically sell myself to coaches if I wanted to play for them. And when I went on some college visits it was always so awkward for me because I was a lot more introverted back then than I am now and I still am today.  It can be especially difficult when meeting the team sometimes because there was one college I went to that I visited and when I met some of the players some of them were actually kind of rude and mean to me which I found very strange because I thought that would not happen. But I found out later that some of the players were intimidated by me so they ended up acting in a different way. With all of that being said about when I was a recruit which was not that long ago.
